Have you ever heard the words disinformation, bad information, deepfakes, grassroots propaganda? Do you know who bots, trolls or haters are, or what a conspiracy theory means? You encounter these phenomena on social media and in other media spaces every day, because false information surrounds us everywhere. It is inevitable. Who spreads such information and for what purpose? Has it always been like this or is it just a phenomenon of today? You will find the answer to all these questions in the book.

But what about you? Can you also unknowingly fall into the web of misinformation and even contribute to its spread? Yes, you can. That is why it is very important that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to check information and distinguish between truth and falsehood. The book teaches you how to identify and expose false information, what simple tricks and free online tools to use. In addition, how to get rid of your own misconceptions and what information to trust when fact-checking. Step-by-step instructions, tests, quizzes and games make this book versatile. Humorous illustrations create a fun atmosphere.

The book was selected for the 2023 international White Raven catalogue, which annually highlights around 200 remarkable new children's and young adult books from around the world. The books are selected by children's literature experts from the International Library for Young Adults.
