Mömmisalu stories. Old oak's birthday
Mömmisalu stories. Old oak's birthday
The stuffed animal carries all kinds of creatures: squirrels, deer, weasels, mice, titmice, spiders, ants, frogs and many, many others, which are already familiar from the book "The Year Round of the Forest People". This time Mõmm tells about how the old oak tree's birthday was celebrated in the forest.
There is enough excitement for every couple of pages of the book: what secrets and stories does the forest hide? In the big picture, the child must be found in the section "Who?" What? Where?' said detail or a small scene in which someone from among the forest people takes part. Each picture is accompanied by a poem describing the anniversary events, from the idea and plans to the party and even the clean-up. The book is structured around the year, there are two or three pairs of pages for each season. In addition, at the end of the book, "Loodusrada" shares interesting information and gives tips for organizing a party.
Poet Rachel Piercey and artist Freya Hartas have created a book in which fiction and non-fiction are combined with amazing ingenuity in an attractive form for children, and which is supported by the current idea of nature conservation. The text reaches the Estonian reader through Riina Turi's equally resourceful intermediary.
